The problem
Getting a token from Elysium onto a HyperCore spot order book is a ceremony run by one address, paid at auction, and it leaves that address with permanent powers. Most tokens have nobody willing or able to run it.
The promised lifecycle
The Elysium documentation describes a path where one token stays inside the Hyperliquid ecosystem from start to finish (What is Elysium):
- Launch on an Elysium AMM.
- Deepen on Elysium markets.
- Graduate to a HyperCore spot order book.
- Reach a perpetual listing through HIP-3.
Step 3 is where most tokens stop.
The issuer ceremony
Listing on HyperCore is a sequence of deployer actions (HyperCore spot deployment, Deploying HIP-1 and HIP-2 assets):
- Plan decimals and supply. The decimal spec is locked when the ticker is bought.
- Buy the ticker.
- Create the deposit wallet that escrows the EVM token.
- Genesis: stage balances, then finalize the supply. Genesis is one-shot.
- Link the ticker to the deposit wallet. The link is permanent.
- List on a spot order book.
Only the deployer, the address that won the ticker, can perform these actions. One address signs everything. Genesis and link are irreversible. The Elysium guide notes that the ceremony can span days, with no deadline between steps.
The cost
Tickers are sold in a recurring Dutch auction. Each cycle lasts about 31 hours, the price descends toward a floor, and there is one winner per cycle. The ticker is at most 6 characters. It is paid in HYPE. Ecosystem builders report a mainnet floor of 500 HYPE.
A token holder who wants a listing has to find that amount alone, at the right moment, and then run every step correctly.
The permanent powers
Whoever runs the ceremony keeps powers over the pair:
| Power | Default | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Deployer share of the pair's trading fees | 100% | Can be resent as long as the share does not increase. What is not paid to the deployer is burned. |
| Freeze privilege | Can be enabled by the deployer | Lets the deployer freeze accounts. Revocation is permanent. |
A token listed by a stranger gives that stranger an income from every trade and, unless revoked, the ability to freeze holders.
Why most tokens have no path
A few launchpads take their own launches to HyperCore with a trusted keeper key. Tokens from every other launchpad have no path.
- A fair-launched token with no team never graduates, because nobody is entitled to run the ceremony for it.
- Or a stranger lists it and keeps the powers.
Symbolon replaces the single trusted signer with a funded queue, a bonded operator, on-chain checks, and three locks that leave the seat empty. See Overview.
