First Crossing

During a Rite, holders can send tokens into the First Crossing so that their tokens are ready on the HyperCore side when the book opens. On testnet the crossing is escrowed and returned, because the HyperCore side is simulated.

Purpose

A new spot pair opens with an empty order book. Holders who want to trade on HyperCore from the first block need their tokens on the Core side before the book opens. Bridging them one by one after listing takes time and leaves the first minutes to whoever crossed first.

The First Crossing collects holders' tokens during the Rite, in escrow, so they can cross together when the listing settles.

Flow

  1. A Pot enters In Rite.
  2. Holders approve the Pots contract and call joinCrossing(potId, amount). Tokens are escrowed. The contract checks it received exactly amount, so fee-on-transfer tokens are rejected.
  3. The Rite ends.
    • If it settles, each holder calls claimCrossing(potId). The contract emits Crossed(potId, holder, amount).
    • If it fails, the Pot returns to Open and each holder calls withdrawCrossing(potId) to get the tokens back.

Joining is possible only while the Pot is In Rite. The button "Join the First Crossing" appears on the Pot page during that phase.

Delivery after a successful RiteclaimCrossing returns the tokens to the holder on Elysium and emits CrossedTokens delivered on HyperEVM to the same address, ready to move to HyperCore through the deposit wallet

The mainnet delivery depends on the Elysium bridging path to HyperEVM and on the HyperCore deposit wallet. On HyperCore, amounts below the token's Core wei precision are burned when moved into Core; the testnet does not simulate this rounding.

Things to know

  • The crossing is optional. Holders who skip it can bridge later.
  • Crossing deposits are not part of the Pot total. They do not affect eligibility or fees.
  • Elysium withdrawals to HyperEVM go through a challenge period. The Elysium documentation does not publish its duration yet. See Risks.
