Bounties

Anyone can add a bounty to a Pot in the Pot's own token. It is shared between sponsors if the listing succeeds, and it can be withdrawn by whoever added it while the Pot is Open.

Who adds bounties

A bounty is an incentive paid in the token being listed, not in HYPE. It rewards the sponsors who pay for the ticker.

Typical contributors:

  • Holders who want the listing but prefer to contribute tokens rather than HYPE.
  • A project treasury or community wallet.
  • Anyone who expects the listing to benefit the token.

Adding and withdrawing

  1. Approve the Pots contract to spend the token.
  2. Call addBounty(potId, amount) while the Pot is Open.

The contract checks that it received exactly amount. A token that takes a fee on transfer is rejected.

withdrawBounty(potId, amount) returns part or all of your own bounty while the Pot is Open. During a Rite the bounty is locked.

How bounties are shared

If the Rite settles, the whole bounty is shared between sponsors in proportion to their pledges. Each sponsor calls claimBounty(potId) once.

SponsorPledgeShare of a 25,000 token bounty
A0.3012,500
B0.187,500
C0.125,000
Total0.6025,000

Shares are rounded down, and the last sponsor to claim receives the remaining amount, so no dust is left in the contract.

When bounties are returned

If a Rite fails, the Pot returns to Open and every contributor can withdraw their bounty again. If the Pot never reaches a Rite, contributors withdraw whenever they want. An empty Pot can only be closed once all bounties are withdrawn.
